Enclaves is a new record label based in Brooklyn, with roots in Bristol and London.We launched in the summer by re-issuing the self-released singles 'Vanderbilt Cup' and 'Exploded View' by rising Bristol band Empty Pools. Empty Pools also have a 7" single out now on Battle Worldwide Recordings. Having shared stages this year with Sharon Van Etten, Destroyer, Exitmusic and White Denim the band are now off on a UK tour with Menomena.
Since launching we have signed a couple of artists – the post-punk art-pop of JAN (aka Kim Talon, also from Brooklyn - via LA and Winnipeg), and Life & Limb – IDM/electro-pop loveliness from Italy and New York. Both have albums out in November on Enclaves:
JAN is the brand new solo project by Kim Talon of LA’s alt-rock group Eagle & Talon. Her self-titled debut LP was produced by John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip, Sleater-Kinney) in Seattle at London Bridge Studios. Now based in New York, JAN completed a successful European tour this fall with a live band featuring Chloe Saavedra (Smoosh) + Melinda Parks (Har Mar Superstar). The album has just been released worldwide as a digital download, with a CD available in the USA and UK direct from Enclaves.
